When the situation worsened, the government decided to deploy the army on the streets. In the viral video on social media, military vehicles are seen patrolling the streets of Kathmandu. The administration has imposed curfew-like restrictions in many areas of the capital so that the situation can be controlled. The government says that this step is necessary to maintain law and order. At the same time, the youth allege that this is an attempt to suppress their voice.
The protesting youth say that the social media ban is just an excuse, the real fight is against corruption and the dictatorial attitude of the government. They say that digital platforms are an important part of both their expression and livelihood.
The government argues that all companies must register in Nepal so that cyber crimes and fake news can be curbed. However, Tik-Tok is still running and videos are constantly going viral there in which the luxurious life of the children of politicians is being compared with the hardships of the common people.
